About Me

Dr. Emilio A. Yonta is well experienced in treating individuals, marital, family, and adolescent concerns. His specialties are in the field of addiction and recovery, depression, anxiety and panic disorders and adolescent behavior problems.  

Dr. Yonta is also a Life Coach and Personal Fitness Trainer helping  individuals transition to real life style change and wellness living. 

Dr.  Yonta has over 28  years experience in the areas noted. Additionally, Dr. Yonta provides consulting services to executives, organizations and businesses in order to improve an organization's culture, effectiveness, and performance.

Dr. Yonta has presented numerous workshops and seminars in the greater Daytona Beach area.  Subjects and topics include: Understanding, identifying and Intervening in School Violence,  Suicide Assessment and Intervention, Grief and Loss as related to Addiction and Recovery, Marital Relationships and Communication, Codependency and Boundaries. 

Dr. Yonta has also been adjunct professor in the Bachelor's program in Social Work at St. Leo's University and at Daytona Beach Community College.

As a therapist, life style coach, and consultant, Dr. Yonta's style is very active and  assists each client and client system to be fully engaged in the change process.  Life happens at the level of movement.  Movement is interaction, it is alive, and it is fully engaged and it is growth.  No growth or movement happens without encountering resistance.  This is a normal yet misunderstood part of the process of growth.  Normal growth and sometime, exponential growth will encounter much resistance.  This is identified and strategies developed to move beyond the resistance. 

Dr. Yonta has been married 33 years, has a married daughter and two grandsons.  Dr. Yonta and his wife enjoy many outdoor activities, including Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Backpacking, and Motor Cycling.
